As beautiful as the aquarium is, the glass are curved and make it difficult to focus sharply - both with our human eyes and with the camera.

Only the iPhone, pressed flat against the glass, was able to do it reasonably well.

 

That is a paddlefish, and yes, it eats with his mouth open!

And when we were little, we were always told not to do that...
 

That's not a particularly successful photo, but you can see the red gills of the spoon fish so well.

Impressive, isn't it?

 
Das Aquarium Aquatis wurde mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail gestaltet und hat Tiere die ich vorher noch nie gesehen haben. Was sehr schade, und mit der Zeit sehr anstrengend war, ist, dass die Verglasung eine starke Krümmung hatte. Ich hatte wahnsinnige Schwierigkeiten die Fische "scharf" zu stellen - und ich rede dabei nicht von meiner Kamera, sondern von meinen eigenen Augen! Meine Kamera konnte überhaupt nicht damit umgehen, mein Handy hat es auch nur hinbekommen, wen ich das Handy flach ans Glas drücken konnte.
 

Aquarium Aquatis was designed with great attention to detail and features animals that I had never seen before. However, it was unfortunate and tiring over time that the glass had a strong curvature. I had tremendous difficulty focusing on the fishrd, and I am not just talking about my camera, but also my own eyes! My camera couldn't handle it either, and my smartphone only managed to focus when I pressed it flat against the glass.
